Works of The Human body

I love to sketch the human figure, in particular I like to sketch portraits.
To achieve the tonal range that I have in this portrait, I used a single HB pencil and an eraser.

Another one of my portraits, this time drawn using ball point pen.
This portrait is a favourite of mine, I think this is because I wasn't expecting it to turn out so well, due to it being my first pen portrait. If I was to change anything I wouldn't have made the shading so dark.

This was a portrait I sketched for a college project. When producing this portrait I tried to be as proportionally correct as I could by creating guidelines; I feel this worked in my favour.

At the time of me producing this piece I had took an interest in sketching the facial features. When producing this piece I had given myself a time period of 15 minutes in which to complete it. My favourite aspect of it is the tonal range I was able to create using a HB pencil.

When producing this piece I wanted to experiment a little with the shading, so i had a try at crosshatch. I am quite pleased with the outcome.

To produce this sketch of lips I worked from my own using a mirror, including as much detail as I could. An eraser was used to mark where the light hit my lips.

Again for this sketch I tried using crosshatch for the shading. I think the crosshatch gave off a great effect.

This study was produced for a college project based on the figure. I gave myself a set time period if 10 minutes in which to sketch this study. With the time period I had given I feel the study is at a great standard.

Another study that I produced for the college project based on the figure. I feel that this study would have been better if I had given myself more time in which to complete it.
